Holy shit, we did it! We kept our little dude alive for a whole year. There was a lot of sleeplessness, a lot of “what in the hell are we doing??” and a lot of trial and error, but we made it. We are officially parents to a 1 year old — and if this
Time is so not on my side as of late. Dexter turns 1 in 13 days and I’m just now getting around to his 11 month post. Need to catch up? Read his progress here. As his mobility grows, so does the busy-ness around here. And we’ve hit some big milestones. Houston, we have teeth!
Dexter is halfway through his 10th month and I’m just now getting a chance to write about it. Yeesh. Suffice it to say, things have been plenty busy around here, and especially more so with a growing, mobile little dude. Yipes. Nine months. And you just keep growing and growing! We had your 9-month checkup, complete with vaccinations (YAY.), and you’re weighing in at 23.7 pounds and are 29.5 inches long. Whew! Seven months already? They (whoever they are) weren’t kidding when they said this time goes by quickly. There has been so much going on, with your growth, with our work and everything in between that if we don’t pause for a second you’re going to be cruising out the door for college!
Holy shit. Six months already? How did that happen? Little one, this blows my mind. You’ve been growing and growing, both physically and mentally.
Five months down with no signs of slowing! My sweet boy, these growing pains are very real for you. Teething has gotten especially rough, and it’s so hard to see you in pain. But with all these aches come great new strides, and it’s amazing to watch as you discover something new nearly every day.
Two whole months! Man, has it flown by. We had amazing visits from both grandparents, spent lots of time with friends and learned a lot about how to function on little sleep.
