Knocked-Up Chronicles: 37 Weeks

I'm huge and the end is near, thank goodness. #Babything is positioned right where he needs to be and is probably weighing in at around 6.5 lbs. There's a good chance he may come early, but it's hard tellin' not knowin', so we're just going to be as prepared as possible.

As promised, I'm taking a page out of my rad homie Cris from Kiss My Tulle‘s book (who took a page from Little Baby Garvin) and will do my damndest to post weekly updates … because someone out there might give a shit and want to know what's going on with this whole thing.

How far along? 37 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: My appointment this morning clocked me at 169, so about 25 lbs.
Maternity clothes? These tanks from Target and shorts, pretty much always. I am also pretty much exclusively living in these nursing bras, (because I just can't with underwire anymore) and #MFE's boxers. It's a struggle for me to even think about real clothes. Please don't make me.
Stretch marks? Yup.
Sleep: Horrible. Between restless legs, bathroom breaks and third trimester insomnia, I'm riding first class on the strugglebus. I can usually get a solid couple of hours in after #MFE goes to work, but that's literally the crux of it.
Best moment this week: We spent Saturday clearing out crap that we didn't need and putting together our furniture from storage. We once again have our beautiful bedframe and there's enough room in the spare room to fit our old couch, which I think will come in very handy.
Miss Anything? My toes. And not having pain in my ribcage.
Movement: It's party time, 24/7.
Food cravings: Topo Chico is my number one, always. I've also been on a hardcore sandwich kick — it's pretty much the only thing that sounds appetizing, ever.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No, not really, but there are some foods that just aren't sitting right. We got some parmesan truffle tater tots the other night and I got super sick.
Gender: Still a dude.
Labor Signs: I'm apparently getting Braxton Hicks contractions — which just feels like a tightening around my abdomen. And I'm 2 cm dilated and about 30% effaced, as of my appointment this morning.
Belly Button in or out? It's kind of a halfie.
Wedding rings on or off? On … my pinkie finger. Between the constant hand pain and the swelling, it's too hard to battle keeping it on my ring finger, but it's sitting pretty securely on my pinkie.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Generally happy, I guess. I don't know, it's not like I've been over the moon — we've been so busy and I'm generally so tired, that it doesn't even register if I'm one way or the other.
Looking forward to: Having hang time with friends this weekend. Doing laundry (OMG, I can't wait to have clean sheets. I'm going to wash all of our sheets so I have an endless supply of just that).

I've been super nose-to-the-grindstone this week with work and trying to get all my ducks in some sort of a row-like thing so it's not utter chaos when #babything does arrive. And based on today's appointment, I need to up the urgency a bit, as there's a v. good chance he may make an early arrival — she said it's pretty normal with “petite” moms. We nailed down the schedule for the remainder of my appointments and went ahead and scheduled an induction for the day after his due date, just in case.
