Knocked Up Chronicles: 35 Weeks

You guys, I feel huge. Like, I'm being led around by the bowling ball that is my belly. And #babything pretty much has nowhere else to go, so he's just pushing up against my ribcage like it ain't no thang … which, uh, is the opposite of fun. But we're getting closer and closer to the due date, which means we're getting closer to my taking maternity leave (such a weird concept, not working). We also have infant CPR and prenatal classes coming up, so education! Yay!

As promised, I'm taking a page out of my rad homie Cris from Kiss My Tulle‘s book (who took a page from Little Baby Garvin) and will do my damndest to post weekly updates … because someone out there might give a shit and want to know what's going on with this whole thing.

How far along? 35 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I weighed in at 167.6 today so that puts me at 26 lbs -ish total gain.
Maternity clothes? These tanks from Target and shorts, pretty much 24/7. I am also pretty much exclusively living in these nursing bras, (because I just can't with underwire anymore).
Stretch marks? Yeah, I think I've got a couple.
Sleep: Ughhhh. It's so hard for me to get to sleep, and I have to get up for a bathroom trip about a bajillion times a night. But I've been allowing myself to sleep in, and I've actually been napping here and there, which is so odd for me.
Best moment this week: We got the kitties a new cat tree, as the old one (a hand-me-down) was getting to the point where it was looking straight pathetic, and we also wanted to treat them to something before #babything arrives. They love it, which makes me so happy.
Miss Anything? Mobility, my feet, comfort, sleep, beer.
Movement: Nonstop. My ribcage and diaphragm are his favorite playthings.
Food cravings: Topo Chico still reigns. I've been craving soda, which is super weird for me. And I pretty much always want brownies or chocolate chip cookies.
Anything making you queasy or sick: This week hasn't been too bad, thank goodness! But the heartburn / acid reflux is no joke.
Gender: Still a dude.
Labor Signs: Hell no. Thank goodness. Though I have started to feel small signs of contractions, which is apparently totes normal.
Belly Button in or out? It's kind of a halfie.
Wedding rings on or off? On … my pinkie finger. Between the constant hand pain and the swelling, it's too hard to battle keeping it on my ring finger, but it's sitting pretty securely on my pinkie.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Pretty happy. Super tired. A little grumps from time to time, but that's because I'm uncomfortable.
Looking forward to: #MFE is headed to Florida tomorrow to empty out our storage unit. I'm so excited to have some of our stuff back, like our nice iron bed frame and our concert posters. It's been so long, that I don't even remember everything contained therein, but I'm so thrilled to be able to nix that bill and be able to properly nest.

At our 35 week appointment today, we got to hear his heartbeat, which sounds super solid. They also did the final blood draw (thank fuck) and we talked a little about the earliest we can induce (Aug. 23). In all, it was a positive appointment — she even gave me the green light to use the muscle/joint spray we got to help with my hand pain, which is awesome. I'm getting pretty over the general, constant discomfort, and am ready to evict this little booger.
