Knocked-Up Chronicles: 33 Weeks

The end is so near, I can almost taste it! We had a doctor's appointment with a sonogram today, and #babything is looking nice and healthy … complete with a big ol' bean (like his pops). Consistent with the rest of the pregnancy, he's still measuring about a week ahead and is weighing in at about 5 lbs. The doc did confirm that if I was ready to be done and he's not here by my due date, then I can make the call to get induced, which was music to my ears. Because y'all, knocked-up in August in Texas is no fucking joke.

As promised, I'm taking a page out of my rad homie Cris from Kiss My Tulle‘s book (who took a page from Little Baby Garvin) and will do my damndest to post weekly updates … because someone out there might give a shit and want to know what's going on with this whole thing.

How far along? 33 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I weighed in at 166.7 today, so that puts me at 25 lbs total gain.
Maternity clothes? It's been hot as hell, so I've been all about these tanks from Target and shorts — also from Target. I also picked up a couple of these nursing bras, (because I just can't with underwire anymore) and they're super comfs.
Stretch marks? Still not super obvious.
Sleep: Better, but the trips to the bathroom are more frequent.
Best moment this week: The holiday weekend gave us three separate opportunities to go swimming and it was MARVELOUS. There's literally nothing better than being weightless right now, and it always helps me sleep better at night.
Miss Anything? I really missed beer this weekend. Like, really missed it.
Movement: So much movement, but since he's running out of room, it's less kick-y and more hard pressure-y. Intense.
Food cravings: Topo Chico still reigns, but I've had almost daily cravings for soda which is super strange for me, as I've never been a regular soda drinker. Also: Chocolate chip cookies.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Actually, I think I had my first week without getting super nauseated! Woot!
Gender: Still a dude.
Labor Signs: Hell no. Thank goodness.
Belly Button in or out? In, but it's flattening out.
Wedding rings on or off? On, but I think that's because I'm super stubborn and refuse to take it off.
Happy or Moody most of the time: I've had some pretty hardcore anxiety this week. I'm getting wiggy about having everything work-wise in place for maternity leave, which has only been exacerbated by contributors dropping off and having to try to find new ones.
Looking forward to: I don't really have anything on the horizon right now. We've been doing little things around the house to get more comfortable and prepared, and it's too hot for us to plan much of anything.

The elephant I got for #babything finally came in and he's freaking adorable. Now I'm obsessed with finding the right baby blanket — not like an everyday blanket, but the kind that is a blankie-blanket. My teddy and blankie were my everything as a kid, and I think they're those special things every kid should have, so I want the same for my son. I know that traditionally these are things given as gifts, but since when have I been traditional? I've been scouring Etsy but nothing has struck that chord just yet.
