Knocked-Up Chronicles: 32 Weeks

Holy bananas. Thirty-two weeks and feeling every ounce of it. It's finally gotten summer-in-Texas-hot around here, and that's making things pretty miserable (pro tip: If you're knocked up and live in a hot-as-balls climate, sit on an icepack for about an hour every day. It helps sooooo much). Since we're getting into the super homestretch, #MFE and I have been doing more and more in the way of preparation — diaper hoarding, home-organizing and taking classes. In fact, we have our first breastfeeding class tonight (uh, WTF, doctor's office, for having a class at 7:50 at night??? You really think us knocked-up chicks can stay awake and attentive that late? Yer dreamin').

As promised, I'm taking a page out of my rad homie Cris from Kiss My Tulle‘s book (who took a page from Little Baby Garvin) and will do my damndest to post weekly updates … because someone out there might give a shit and want to know what's going on with this whole thing.

How far along? 32 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Last appointment said 18 pounds, I'm gonna tag another eight on top of that so let's go with 26.
Maternity clothes? It's been hot as hell, so I've been all about these tanks from Target and shorts — also from Target. I also picked up a couple of these nursing bras, (because I just can't with underwire anymore) and they're super comfs.
Stretch marks? Still not super obvious.
Sleep: It's kind of hit or miss — I'm either sleeping really solidly throughout the night, or I have wicked insomnia. Seems to vary pretty greatly, but the last couple of nights have been solid, and I've even slept in!
Best moment this week: #MFE and I hit the Denton Pride rally and got some good hang time with friends beforehand. I miss being social.
Miss Anything? Being comfortable.
Movement: It's rare that he actually stops moving! He's been jutting his skull up hard under my ribcage which can be pretty uncomfortable.
Food cravings: Topo Chico still reigns. And any juices with hibiscus and/or watermelon.
Anything making you queasy or sick: When #babything kicks really hard, it'll give me a short bout of nausea. Too much activity also makes me woozy.
Gender: Still a dude.
Labor Signs: Hell no. Thank goodness.
Belly Button in or out? In, but it's flattening out.
Wedding rings on or off? On, but I find myself switching it to another finger to give my ring finger a break fairly often.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy. Life's pretty good.
Looking forward to: I was looking forward to spending some time with friends this weekend at a cookout, but I don't think that's going to be a possibility anymore. So, um, just chilling? I've gotta find a pool somewhere, though.

It's been a pretty quiet week, though #MFE and I did manage to accomplish one major thing we've been working on for what seems like ages, finally, and that's going to help us out a lot going forward.
