Two whole months! Man, has it flown by. We had amazing visits from both grandparents, spent lots of time with friends and learned a lot about how to function on little sleep.

Dexter weighs 12.4 lbs and is 24 inches long. He's doing well in his growth, according to the doctor, and handled his vaccinations like a champ.

Little Dexter, at 2 months:

Your favorite place to nap is on my chest, curled up like a frog.

You're smiling reactively, which melts my heart each and every time.

You have a ton to say, and aren't afraid to make us hear it.

You get so enthusiastic about nursing that you snort like a little piggy when trying to latch.

You snore like your daddy.

You saw your reflection in the mirror the other day and it made you so happy.

You're warming up to bath time and have managed to avoid shitting on the towel most of the time.

You sleep like your momma, in that it's difficult for you to get to sleep and you may have a few consecutive waking hours in the middle of the night. It's not awesome.

Your eyes are looking bluer and bluer each day, and your hair is getting thicker and thicker.

You love when we read to you at night — especially if it's Shel Silverstein or Dr. Seuss' ABC Book.

The kitties are getting more curious about you — Gus likes to hang out on the bed near you and Dolly will always check on you if you're crying.

You're a wonderful little baby, and we love you so so much.
