It's been a busy week around here, with some highs and some lows, but mostly smooth sailing. Trying to get all my work lined up for some time off has proven to be a little difficult, but it's an undertaking I'm happy to accept. Today marks the start of Week 27, which is also the last week of the second trimester -- which means we're nearing the home stretch and shit's about to get real, y'all.
As promised, I'm taking a page out of my rad homie Cris from Kiss My Tulle's book (who took a page from Little Baby Garvin) and will do my damndest to post weekly updates ... because someone out there might give a shit and want to know what's going on with this whole thing.
How far along? 27 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Over 157.2, but not sure how much.
Maternity clothes? Yes. I've been super loving the Liz Lange for Target maternity tank tops with pretty much anything -- they're long enough to wear with leggings and not have my booty sticking out and they're just fitted enough to wear with my baggy jeans (ie: the only ones I fit into). Bonus: They only run about $12.
Stretch marks? I think some are starting to show up, but I got some coconut oil cream to help out with that and the constant belly itch.
Sleep: Pretty solid the last couple of nights. I was stressed a few nights ago and slept for shit, so it's totally a give-and-take.
Best moment this week: The wonderful baby shower our friends threw for us! It was really nice to have so many of our favorite people all hard-chilling in one place. And that cake!
Miss Anything? Being comfortable. Having energy.
Movement: Lots! He's been kicking up a storm and doing barrel rolls. It's especially weird when I can feel his skull (or butt?) in a specific spot.
Food cravings: Topo Chico for lyfe. Hamburgers. Pickles. Ice cream sandwiches.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Tomato-based stuff hasn't been sitting well.
Gender: Still a dude.
Labor Signs: Hell no. Thank goodness.
Belly Button in or out? In, but it's getting smaller.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy and irritable. It's pretty touch-and-go.
Looking forward to: The Golden Jesus Chili Cook-off this weekend!
Our amazing friends threw us a great baby shower on Sunday at our favorite bar. There weren't any games or organized silliness -- just a bunch of homies hanging out at a chill spot, enjoying the weather and one another. Their generosity brought me to near-tears multiple times this week, and I can't get over how freaking lucky we are to have landed in a community of so many amazing souls.
