Pretty much since I announced that #babything was a thing, I've been pestered to post bump pics. But truth be told, y'all, up until super recently it's really only looked as though I ate about five burritos too many. But within the last couple of weeks, #babything has been transitioning from food baby status to full-blown "there's definitely a uterine parasite in there" status -- my stomach has become rounder and harder to the touch. My knocked up cohort who I go on swimming dates with -- because exercise is the worst and swimming is the best -- even remarked this week that I was definitely showing way more. And since I'm now officially halfway, I'm taking a page out of my rad homie Cris from Kiss My Tulle's book (who took a page from Little Baby Garvin) and will do my damndest to post weekly updates ... because someone out there might give a shit and want to know what's going on with this whole thing.
How far along? 20 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Not really sure -- I started at about 144, and my last visit to the doc was about 149, but my home scale is totally happy (as am I) with it settling at about 145 .. which is obv. not right. So, dunno.
Maternity clothes? Kinda. I got some maternity shirts from Target as well as a pair of maternity workout / gym shorts that I pretty much live in. My regular wardrobe basically consists of T-shirts, and that hasn't changed, they're just a wee bit tighter. And I'm wearing a holy shit-ton of leggings.
Stretch marks? Not yet, but I know they're coming.
Sleep: I'm totally useless by 8:30 and am asleep by 10 every night. I have to get up to pee pretty much at 4:30 a.m. on the dot every night and often have a tough time getting back to sleep after that ... until #MFE's alarm goes off. Once he leaves for work around 6:30, I've been getting super solid sleep until about 8 or 8:30 every morning.
Best moment this week: Swimming felt really good, even if those swim team twerps took up the whole lap pool and relegated us to the slide pool. Also, hitting the halfway mark.
Miss Anything? Bourbon and tequila. Regular happy hour.
Movement: Nothing that I can tell yet -- but those in the know have been telling me that once I legit feel it, I'll realize I've been feeling it for a while.
Food cravings: Salad, broccoli, ramen, asparagus, cake. So much cake.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Dolly's shits (for such a sweet girl, she has the stinkiest poop), anything overly acidic.
Gender: And ... it's gonna be a little dude!
Labor Signs: Hell no. Thank goodness.
Belly Button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? Not (yet) applicable. But my regular plethora of rings have been feeling a bit tight.
Happy or Moody most of the time: This week's been a bummer, but my uncle passed, so that's a given. Mostly cranky as shit, but I blame that on way too much time dealing with crappy customer service.
Looking forward to: The Big Ultrasound on the 12th. I'm hoping it'll help it feel more really-real, and I'm looking forward to seeing the little dude.
