Because I tend to drink bourbon with my people in the affiliate marketing industry.
And sparkle is synonymous with weddings.
Bourbon & Sparkle started specifically as a resource for wedding bloggers who wanted to learn more about affiliate marketing, which merchants are a great fit for the niche and tips and tricks to see continued success in the affiliate space.
Since its inception in February 2015, Bourbon & Sparkle has grown to also include discussion about being a work at home mom (because I got knocked up and I'm never one to pass up a good opportunity). And the name is just appropriate for my whole life (glitter is one of my favorite colors, after all). But since focus is important, I've decided to focus on the affiliate marketing aspect. But if you want to read about my superfuckingcute kid, this is the place to do it.
I ran a super successful wedding blog, The Broke-Ass Bride, from 2012- summer 2017, in addition to being a day-of wedding coordinator, a freelance blog writer /editor / social media manager and pretty much whatever else fell into my lap. I have a tendency to wear a shitload of hats.
I've been blogging about weddings since 2011. I've been working within the affiliate marketing space since 2013. I have spoken at Affiliate Summit East '14, Affiliate Summit West '15, Affiliate Summit East '15 and Affiliate Summit West '16. I serve on the Affiliate Summit Advisory Board.
I also love to cook and eat and watch cooking shows while eating. I am mildly obsessed with unicorns (my spirit animal) and cats (I have three). I love adventures and patio beers and spending time with really rad people. I have a serious geek streak (there are no less than seven references to Doctor Who in my living room) and I have to be restrained from painting everything in my house turquoise or gold. I'm considerably happier in flip-flops than any other form of footwear and my Google-fu is not to be fucked with. I love bourbon. I love sparkle. I love lamp.
I can be found all over the Internets, especially on Facebook (but please don't get mad if I don't accept your personal friend request. We can hang plenty of other places!), Twitter (@bourbonsparkle, @brokeasschris10) Instagram (@bourbonandsparkle, @brokeasschris10) and Pinterest.
